Yerevan Metro is not one of those beautiful metros with attractive architecture, but it's a place where you can observe all kinds of people. The stations are limited - there are only ten of them. It's a typical Soviet-style metro with Soviet-style people working there. The good thing is that it's very cheap - only 100 AMD for a ride, so you can just walk around all the stations and see those parts of Yerevan where tourist guides will not take you. Most importantly, it will take you to the main station, where you can take a train or a bus to other cities of Armenia and it covers most of downtown.
You can also find statues of Soviet heroes in some of the stations.
The metro is frequent, clean and safe!
This is my favorite place to wander around when I need to think (and sometimes overthink) about something. I just love exploring places near the metro stations: they are so unique and local.
