So I already wrote about Aleppo Market near the metro in Republic Square. It is a place where you can find a small number of shops by Syrian-Armenians selling various products, among them notably spice shops that will ultimately improve the taste of your meals.
But I want to have a separate post about this small booth you can see in the picture. It is called Spitak ("white" in Armenian). I am not aware of the origins of their choice of name, but the food is amazingly delicious. They make mostly sandwiches in a very Syrian-Armenian, delicious way. And although I mostly eat cheese or hummus sandwiches, I have no doubt that meat fans will find tasty sandwiches here as well.
Being near a metro station in the Republic Square, this is a great spot to charge energy with one or two sandwiches made by Mr. Vahram before you rush to sightseeing, work or study. And the prices are affordable for students -- and not only :)
P.S. recently discovered they also sell hummus for taking it with you and enriching your dishes. Worth trying :)
