If you're looking for something quick to eat just behind Saint Mark's Square then Birreria Forst is the right place!
Brewery Forst is an historical locale, in rustic style, with wooden tables and benches that offers the best tramezzini of Venice. Opened after the war, it has always been famous for its sandwiches made of bread with rye flour, filled with an endless variety of ingredients. Always fresh, high quality, prepared with creative combinations like beef, peppers and mustard, or turkey, cheese and vegetables, and even sausages, vegetables and mustard. You can also have typical Venetian cichetti which vary day by day, simple sandwiches or hotdogs but I really recommend you, before leaving, try the "black tramezzini".
Moreover everything is accompanied by fine ales and lagers of any type, and a little bowl with bagigi (peanuts) as a welcoming snack, which is the signature feature of this locale.
The staff is really welcoming and nice but what I prefer and I really like about this place is the numerous gondoliers coming inside for a little break from work who always make the atmosphere vibrant!
