Nestled at the edge of Carmen, not far from Turia Park, you'll find Monterey Pub—my local watering hole. It's the type of bar I always imagined frequenting in my twenties: homely, cool without being pretentious, and the default spot for Friday night drinks with friends. The vintage decor inside gives it a 1970s dive bar vibe (think Hotel California).
It's nice and cosy for those chillier winter evenings and a lively spot for those hot summer nights. The drink prices are cheap (less than 3 euros for a glass of wine or a beer), so it's a great option if you're on a budget. They don't have food aside from nuts, but not too far away is their sister restaurant, Monterey Cantina, one of the best places to get tacos in the city. Honestly, I almost want to keep this gem to myself; it's easily one of my favourites in the city.
