Springhaver is a stylish art-house cinema that also features a cozy brown cafe that serves pub food. The entrance to the cinema is on the right, while the cafe is on the left. The staff is lovely, and the food is quite affordable. A big bonus is the sunny, Paris-style terrace in front, which catches sun rays until late in the afternoon, even in autumn (something that's actually quite rare in the city center!). During winter, the cafe is usually packed with people going to see a movie or just grabbing a beer with friends. The wooden furnishings and friendly service make it feel like a home away from home. This is a popular spot during all seasons, so it can get busy!
Springhaver is a sibling of the Louis Hartlooper complex, but focuses more on independent films, international cinema and documentaries. Usually, movies are not dubbed in the Netherlands and only have subtitles. If you pick a movie in your native language, you'll be fine!
