For authentic Italian pizza in Utrecht, there is really only one place where you can go: O’Panuozzo, where they serve traditional Neapolitan pizza. For me, there is one clear indicator that the pizza is up to Italian standards, and that is the number of people speaking Italian you hear among the guests and the staff. O'Panuozzo succeeds here with flying colors. On top of that, they are one of the very few Dutch pizzerias mentioned in the prestigious Top 50 Pizza guide.
In my opinion, the Voorstraat location is the best one, although they also have a restaurant in the Mariastraat and the Sijpensteijnkade. Each location features a huge and impressively hot pizza oven.
The Voorstraat location is best because a) they have a cat and b) a terrace and an open window along the street provide a great view to observe people walking along the (lively but also slightly notorious) Voorstraat. The pizzas are absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, making this great value for money. Also, don't miss out on the homemade limoncello and tiramisu.
