Like any medium-sized city in Western Europe, Utrecht now features a growing number of bouldering gyms. If you want to keep up climbing during your trip or are just curious to give it a try, I’d recommend Boulderhal Sterk.
Not because it’s the newest or fanciest bouldering gym in Utrecht (it’s not), but because it’s a very social climbing hall. The staff and visitors are really friendly, and usually, people help each other figure out the routes. Don't be afraid to ask a friendly-looking climber for help if you get stuck on a route! It also features a cool bar with local refreshments, and there is a café area where you can play board games after you’re done climbing while you watch the other climbers. It's even a popular remote working spot!
A one-time climbing pass is 12,50, and you can rent shoes for 4,50. You don't need a climbing pass to enter the café.
