Going North from the city center, the riversides of Po River are very pleasant and perfect for a walk, some jogging or for riding your bike at.
Until 2005, in this part of the city there was quite a long distance between the bridges connecting the East and West banks (Regina Margherita Bridge and Sassì Bridge) and crossing the river meant a long walk/ride. Then, as part of a project called "Turin City of Waters", the pedestrian bridge Chiaves-Carrara was built.
The bridge works as a perfect link for the riverside parks and cycling paths, and it allowed a new connection between the neighborhoods of Borgata Vanchiglietta
and Barriera di Casale.
From the Chiaves-Carrara Bridge you can enjoy a wonderful landscape on both directions: the hills with Basilica di Superga to the North and the city centre with Mole Antonelliana to the South.
My favorite time to come here is sunset hour because of the colors and the light reflection on the flowing waters. It is really romantic.
