Q. Where can you find smart line of men’s and women’s shirts in Toronto?
A. The Envelōp please.
Q. Where can you buy those same shirts from an independent store owner who designs them and sews them right here in Toronto?
A. Again, the Envelōp please.
Envelōp is a small shop on the Danforth, in Toronto’s East end that sells clothing with a mix of classic sensibility and stylish modernity.
The studio offers a colourful array of short and long sleeve shirts for men. Many of them are made with luxe, natural materials in whimsical patterns. All of them are collared. The collection for women includes cotton and linen blouses (in season), sleeveless shells, flared skirts, and dresses that flatter a range of body types.
This is not disposable apparel, so the prices reflect a well-made garment. The numbers of each size are somewhat limited, but at least you can be sure that no one else will be wearing the same piece – unless of course, they share your great taste for fun and unfussy fashion.
Envelōp is a clothing label that sure gets my stamp of approval.
