It’s not often that you can find a restaurant/sports bar that has separate menus for plant-based and gluten-friendly diners, so when I discovered Beertown, I was beyond excited! This spot may specialize in craft beers, but they’ve got so much on offer for all, no matter your drink or dietary preferences. My personal favourite meal is their plant-based Yucatan bowl, which I pair with their muddled berry lemonade, which feels like a delicious mocktail to me.
Beyond the wide selection of food and drink they’ve got, the atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a sports bar, and it gets even better when they’ve got their sidewalk windows open so you get that indoor/outdoor feel.
Beertown also goes a step further on the sustainability front, beyond offering so many plant-based options, as they have a reusable growler program. Patrons can buy a growler full of beer to take home and exchange the old growler for a new one each time they come in to get a refill. This is the kind of circularity businesses should be working towards to help protect our planet!
