This small park, not too far from the city centre, is a lovely green spot in Tel Aviv. It’s located close to Yehuda Halevi Street and it's a little bit off the beaten path, but since I found it, I keep coming back to it whenever I’m in the area.
The most charming features of this park are the two ponds full of plants of all kinds, one on the eastern side of the park and the other on its western side.
There’s a small community garden in the park, where locals grow vegetables and herbs, and plenty of places to sit in the shade under the trees on a summer day.
It’s interesting to note that this little park was the result of a long, persistent battle by local residents. The area where the park is today used to be a parking lot and it took the residents no less than 15 years to convince the city to turn it into a much needed local park.
