During the pandemic, the rise of the delivery service business created access to a much larger variety of cuisines for Tbilisians, making us prone to being ‘professional’ food critics. Bear with me here, I’m getting to the point I want to make. My point here is: I have tried about 90% of the Asian restaurants in the city and none comes close to the fiery flavour of Pho.
With just a couple of tables inside and another couple outside, the restaurant makes a very small impression at first, well, until the cook gets on with your order and you have to flinch and step back amid the actual blazes. Don’t worry, the glass between the wok and you won’t let the blazes through.
I think it is the real fire that gives the wok dishes, especially fried noodles such flavour, the kind of flavour that reminds me of Georgian national barbecue - Mtsvadi. The menu is focused on different Asian cuisines, offering a big range of selections, anything to anyone’s taste. However, I would recommend my favourite: fried noodles with meat and sauce of your choice and vegetables of your choice.
So, if you’ve already marvelled at the Vazha-Pshavela monument, strolled through the avenue-long park and come across another peculiar monument (dedicated to Georgia-Spain diplomatic relations) - Pho Asian Cuisine is just around the corner!
