New life was given to this lovely pedestrian street on the left bank only recently.
Aghmashenebeli Str. is located on the Left bank of the Kura River and it's just a short walk from the famous Dry bridge (check the article). It's a lovely street with quaint little shops, cafes and wine bars like the Amber Bar. I just adore the area. It's cleaned up but has not been made into a cookie-cutter version of itself; its old-world elegance is charming.
I love taking note of all the restored signs, some in Russian and Georgian, and modern ones in English. There are young people enjoying themselves, its friendly to tourists, but it still feels local. Step into one of the wine bars, galleries or cafes. One of my favorite wine bars in the area is the Amber Bar. They have excellent wines available by the bottle and by the glass and delicious cheeses and other dishes.
