Maiz Mexican restaurant is one of the few Mexican restaurants in Stockholm. It is located in Vasastan, an area with residential buildings, good restaurants, and the park Vasa Parken, a popular place for play, picnics, and meeting friends.
If you travel here by subway, you have the restaurant just next to the subway exit. You will find all your favourite dishes here, such as the common Quesadillas, Tacos, Nachos, Fajitas and more. I can recommend going for the Maiz Mix Plate. If you are really hungry, you might finish it all by yourself, but I can recommend it to share as the tacos are quite large, even if they are the small ones. You will get all your fave toppings, the pastor, asado, cochinita, carnitas and more.
All is very fresh, has a good balance, and the pico de gallo is very yummy as well. I love the chilli mayo that comes with it; it is rich and flavourful, which gives it an extra dimension. The restaurant is colourful and has that Mexican feel to it. It is on the smaller side but on two levels. You order your food and drink over the counter and take a free seat in the house. It was the first time I had seen Corona beer on tap in Sweden, so I had that. You can get tasty Margaritas too. I love coming here on weekends for a late lunch.
