Obvious enough from the name, Garlic & Shots is a bar, a restaurant and a club located in Folkungagatan, one of the main streets in Södermalm that also serves as landmark for the so-called SoFo area (South of Folkungagatan).
Now, I totally am a garlic lover, so reason number one why I like this place is the menu: it's 100% garlic-based. From appetizers to dessert, including beer and shots, all you get in your plate is garlic in all its form and combinations.
I recognize that garlic might not be as popular as burgers or fries (both included in the menu as well), so what if one does not like garlic? Alright, just drop by and have fun trying one (or more) of the 101 shots. Maybe the most famous Tony Montana, for cinema buffs, or No Fear So Far for the bravest. My choice? No. 36: Harley Davidson Oil.
If this is still not enough, here’s another reason: rock’n’roll baby! Yes, the place is one of the most unique rock bars in town. The walls are decorated with posters, road signs and rock’n’roll memorabilia.
Beside garlic and music, I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere here. Maybe it’s because this place has much of what I love, maybe because listening to your favorite songs while you’re having dinner out is not of every place, whatever it is the reason, pay a visit to Bröderna Olssons Garlic & Shots: good or bad, you won’t leave it without an opinion!
