Have you ever wanted to eat a burrito as large as a baby? If you’ve never made the size comparison between the two, Gorditos in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle will soon change that. Wall-to-fall framed photos of newborns lying next to burritos is a scene you’ll never forget.
For $11, the “Baby Burrito” is a footlong monster, stuffed with your choice of meat, beans, rice, cheese and veggies. I’ve easily split it between three people and been stuffed.
A survivor of the 2016 Greenwood gas explosion, Gorditos is a treasured neighborhood spot. When I first moved to Seattle and lived just a few blocks away, I went nearly every week. The service is fast but friendly and the food is consistently amazing. My favorite part (beyond the wall of baby pics) is the little colorful burro you get to take to your table, instead of a number.
Stop by Gorditos before exploring Golden Gardens or Carkeek Park, for a super-filling and super-cheap meal.
