There is a legend about Sarajevo that is passed through generations and it goes :
"Whoever drinks water from Baščaršija returns to Sarajevo."
Legend or not, it had been proven true so many times. There is rarely a person that comes to Sarajevo just once - they come back again and again.
It's not the biggest nor the most beautiful in the world but it surely is the most magical.
Centered in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then the whole country centred in the heart of Europe, there's so much heart visible and felt in the air.
That magic comes from the hospitality, smiles, and kindness of locals.
This drinking fountain is on the corner of the Gazi-Husrev Beg Mosque and is basically placed in the most frequented street in the city when it comes to walking areas.
It is always on so the water is refreshing. It is like a natural spring and the best free place to drink clean drinkable water as much as you like.
It looks like it's coming from the stone.
I have a habit of never passing without washing my hands three times or drinking a sip of water, just for luck.
Because if it brings luck to foreigners, it sure brings luck to me too.
Come, take a sip, and wait for the legendary spell.
