I like to made candles myself. And I usually make them from leftovers of bought candles (yes, recycling again :)). But homemade candles are great as presents, and to make the dark autumn and winter evenings brighter I need to buy lots of candles, because I like candle light.
Some would say "what's so special about buying candles? There are so many shops which are full of candles". But most of them are imported, produced mainly in Asian countries, so have traveled a long way and used a lot of resources. Buying local goods is not only good to support the local economy, but is environmentally friendly as well.
In this shop you can buy local Dobeles candles. Dobeles is a small town in Latvia, where candles have been produced since the '60s. There's such a large variety of shapes and specialty colors.
And even if you do not want to buy a candle, just go have a look, it will be such an amazing color therapy for you.
