I love Italian food, always so fresh and colorful, so if you like it too and you happen to be around Foz and in the mood for lunch or dinner in a little Italy kind of place, go for the trendy Portarossa.
This restaurant is thoughtfully decorated with a glimpse of a modern Italy, cozy and familiar. Whenever possible I try to stay outside, on that lovely terrace, built in a way that we can use it even during not too pleasant weather as they have heaters outside. The menu is vast and very good, with great starters, excellent wood oven pizzas, pastas and delicious Italian desserts. The smell of the oven pizzas once you're in is amazing, I usually start with a tomato affumicato cream soup (slightly smoked flavor) and then the tough choice revolves around Caesar Salad or Wild Mushroom and Truffle, both are very tasteful. But for a first visit, maybe the pizza is a better option when trying to be impressed with the flavors. As a dessert, whenever there is still some room left, I love the Tiramisu Charlotte and the Hidden Banana Pie.
This is the ideal place to go with a small group of friends, to enjoy a great meal and endless conversation, or at least that what I love to do. The staff is super friendly and always makes you feel welcome, promoting a relaxed ambience.
Buon Appetito!
