With two addresses (one at Rua de Almada and another at Rua de Passos Manuel) DeGema is another great place in Porto that highlight artisanal burgers made with local products.
The burgers are named after popular expressions of the north of Portugal. Besides the meat burgers (steer, chicken breast or salmon), there are two vegan burger options, a lot of salads and pregos (a local type of sandwich stuffed with meat). If you're around Porto with your kids, they have tasty and cheap menu options with burger + fries + drink.
My favorite burger is their "Fino como o Alho" (€6), which consists of a chickpea burger, jalapeño pickles, iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber and Baba Ghanoush sauce. DELICIOUS! No matter what burger you choose, I know for sure you'll have a great meal. All of them are served with potato chips or sticks (you choose!) and garlic mayonnaise (except the vegan options, which are served with ketchup). They'll probably ask you if you want it with oregano or not. So, as you can see, lots of options.
If you want to try a Portuguese beer, you can choose between Letra and Musa. I'm sure you'll find some really tasty and fine beers. They also serve some wine, sangrias, non-alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. Ah! If you like juice, order the juice of the day (€1.40), because the cost-to-benefit is worth it.
Forget the fast-food burger, eat the artisanal and local one. I bet you'll thank me later!
