Located in the gardens of Palácio de Cristal and with an amazing view of the Douro River, Biblioteca Almeida Garrett is one of the most modern, amazing libraries of Porto.
On its two floors you can find different areas: a children's section; some space for expositions and activities located on the right of the main entrance; an auditorium for conferences, congresses and professional encounters; a multimedia space (on the lower floor) with lots of CDs, DVDs and computers for public use, and a huge catalog of books, magazines and documents.
If in the meantime you feel hungry, don't worry, the library also has a cafeteria where you can buy and eat some snacks; go outside and eat them later and have some fresh air while enjoying the vibe of one of the Porto's most beautiful gardens. At the end of the day, I promise you a beautiful sunset that will make your day totally worth it.
I really love to go there to read and work, because they have a really good collection of books, and the tables are also really good. You’ll find sockets all over the place. If you need to work, read or write and want to do it while surrounded by nature, go to Palácio de Cristal and have a look!
