There are chocolates and chocolates. France is known for the quality of that product, with all due respect for Belgium and Switzerland. When visiting friends, French people will bring a bottle of wine and chocolates; for Christmas or Easter, French people fill the table with the best chocolate...
Roy is a small, very old shop in a historic setting, which sells only top quality chocolate. Their product is not fancy -- no special shapes, no special boxes. Just simple red boxes with simple-shaped chocolates. But the taste is simply awesome!! They also produce chocolate without sugar, which tastes amazingly good. I visit the shop sometimes and even buy chocolate tablets, which are a cheaper way of getting the same product and always go there when I have a present to offer.
This little shop, which has no franchises or other outlets, sells a lot of its production online, and they even advertize that they ship abroad to the US and Japan, mostly. Still, a visit to their little place is worth the time. The shop attendant will kindly give you advice on the best product to get depending on what you are going to do. The shop is very close to Trocadero square, and the fantastic sweets are worth the detour. Diabetics are welcome!
