St Lars is all about the meat so if you are vegetarian then it’s really not the place to go. Actually, make sure you have had your 5 portions of fruit and veg before dinner because it’ll be a challenge to fill your quota here!
They grill everything on an open coal grill and the menu is all meat, apart from one or two fish dishes (the grilled lobster tail is fantastic). Most people tend to go for the 36hr grilled leg of lamb (400kr) and rightly so, it melts in your mouth with the most amazing smoky taste. I’ve also heard good things about the burger but can never bring myself to abandon the lamb… They also have 2 set menus, 600kr and 800kr, and wine pairings if you are feeling flush. They also serve whole suckling pig to groups in multiples of 4 and that have ordered 5 days in advance, which is still on my to-do list.
The interior is dark and cozy and the perfect place to spend a snowy winter evening with some quality grilled meat and a big bottle of red.
