The newly refurbished Jordal Park is a great place to do activity workouts and play around, both for adults and children, and a great meeting place for the locals in this east center of Oslo. After it was refurbished in 2020, I have come here many times to do some physical activity or just include it as a stop in my evening walks. The park contains a nice elevated structure that gives a good overview and lots of different spaces to utilize and play around in. The area includes a skating park, a football field, several areas for outdoor strength training and body conditioning, and natural areas with water and fountains. This makes the park also very nice to walk in and just sit down and relax and watch everyone else do the training!
As the cherry on the cake comes the completely new indoor ice hockey rink, Jordal Amfi, where you can see a hockey game with the best team in Oslo, Vålerenga. The refurbishing of the arena has given resources to the whole area which makes this park a great and free opportunity to get out and attain some physical activity. The park nicely brings together the areas of Kampen, Vålerenga, Jordal, and Galgeberg and is a natural meeting point for many generations of people. Thus, a great place for one of my favorite Sunday activities, people-watching.
