There has been a lot of talk about this not-so-well kept secret in Montreal. I've heard a lot of different comments about this chef and his Vietnamese inspired creations. First, there is a strong feeling about tradition when it comes to Japanese food. This guy injected a lot of funk into his ideas, and not all of us agree. But if you dare to taste, I'm pretty sure that you cannot deny the greatness and you'll become an addict, so watch out.
Mr. Tri Du's special recipe, his sushi "À-la-Tri" is a true sensation in town. It's a kind of fish paste mixed with tempura, caviar, finely chopped chives and the famous secret sauce. He even came up with a sushi pizza that is, well, not bad at all. But for the purist, there are all the classics like sashimi, rolls, hosomaki, miso soup... but that's not the way to go. For the full experience, order the funk. And get infected by greatness.
