Parque de los Venados is my favorite park in the city. Not only is it enormous –making it a great spot for running–it is also surrounded by small businesses where you can find everything. Parque de los Venados is an ideal spot to relax any day of the week. Whether you are on vacation in Mexico City or are a local and want to work out without paying a gym membership, it has its own exercise equipment available for everyone.
I visit Parque de los Venados mainly because it has one of the biggest dog parks in the neighborhood. Here, I can let Baphy run around with other dogs while I sit on a bench listening to music. If you have kids, there is also one of the prettiest children's playground I have seen in the city. Because of confinement, outdoor activities are limited–going to the park, sit on a bench and read a book has been almost therapeutic to me.
Moreover, if you're looking for fresh fruit or vegetables to take home, there is a tianguis (flea market) every Tuesday and Thursday inside the park.
