The place to go for seafood
Mariscos Don Vergas is the closest you can get to Sinaloa's finest seafood in Mexico City. Sinaloa, in the North of Mexico, is a well-known place for having the best seafood and fish you can find in Mexico.
They recently moved to a bigger location in Colonia Cuauhtemoc, a few steps away from Paseo de la Reforma. Before you could find this place in one of the corners of the Mercado San Juan.
This amazing spot serves fresh and seasonal produce brought every day from the sea of Cortes. They offer a variety of dishes, however, I would recommend you try the aguachile and the Taco Gobernador.
The head chef of this small street cuisine restaurant, Luis Valle, also owns a small "marisquería" in Colonia Condesa. Don Vergas, besides serving delicious food, has its own charitable project.
"Our future plan is to make massive meals for 500 people - In Picho’s and Don Vergas, people who don't have food are always fed. I like to take care of the homeless the same as any usual client”- Luis Valle.
