It is one of my favorite places to eat a unique sandwich. The place has a unique spirit and your food will tell you that, too. Its founders were inspired by the story of Julio Cortazar "La Casa Tomada", the story about two brothers, as well as of the founders of this place, José Antonio and José Miguel del Pozo. They mix food with good art: it is a gallery restaurant where you can enjoy the pleasure of street food surrounded by an exhibition. Their calling is to create the best sandwiches in Madrid!
I recommend the roast beef sandwiches, Pollo Italia (the one in the photo), which is one of my favorites. I also recommend the salads, the pulled pork fries with guacamole or you can try something with a Venezuelan flavor like "El Pelúo" or "El Galipán" and for beer lovers, here you can find the best craft beers.
Casa Tomada was born in a family environment: they grew up (the brothers) in Venezuela and moved from there to land in Madrid. La Casa Tomada also has take-away so you can enjoy the menu wherever you are (in Madrid!).
The Del Pozo brothers pay tribute to the sandwich in a format of quality urban cuisine, with recipes and original creations, dishes to share and a careful selection of craft beers. Come with friends and have a different time in the Barrio de Salamanca.
