It may sound strange to visit a place dedicated to Mexican culture in the heart of Madrid, but for me it's like my second home. I love culture and especially everything that has to do with the traditions of different countries.
At the Institute in Mexico in Spain (IMEX) you can always see an exhibition of visual arts, or in case you want to read or learn more about Mexican culture, there is a library that has the name Octavio Paz in honor of the Nobel Prize for Literature. In the library you will find titles of authors and scholars from different genres related to Mexico. I also recommend you check their Facebook page and subscribe to their newsletter because they always have very interesting activities to attend.
Another thing you can't miss is their Día de los Muertos celebrations, one of the most popular Mexican fiestas around the world. They usually build an altar and you can taste the "bread of the dead" combined with a delicious hot chocolate, Mexican style.
And the best of all is its location: in the center of Madrid, it's very close to Congreso de los Diputados and the Plaza de Las Cortes and El Neptuno. You will find a Mexican flag at the entrance.
Long live Mexico in Madrid!
