The Brasserie Oekosoph is part of the Oekozenter Pafendall building (promotes sustainable development) in the Pfaffenthal district which is often said to be a small village in the city. Down here it is a lot quieter and there is a lot of green around, and amidst the trees, you will see the Alzette river.
The brasserie is run by Chef Lou, helped by a team of volunteers. Chef Lou prepares meals respecting a no-waste philosophy and offers a range of vegetarian and vegan dishes, but also some dishes with local organic meat. My favorites are Kniddelen mat Speck (typical Luxembourgish dish) and the organic cordon bleu, which is delicious.
The team tried to use as much as possible recycled or upcycled furniture, which makes it look more rustic, but still in a very comfortable atmosphere. They offer daily lunch menus for 10€ and as soon as the weather gets better, I love to have a Funck-Bricher Pils (a Luxembourgish organic beer) on their sunny terrace right in front of the Alzette river.
