Located on a quiet block of Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, the Griddle Café is off the beaten path but a place where locals line up for long waits. More than simply a greasy spoon, the Griddle Café takes traditional American diner food to the next level.
The long waits are worth it.
The Griddle Café serves all-day breakfast and specializes in creative takes on traditional breakfast dishes such as French Toast, waffles, and pancakes, which are all served with whipped cream and authentic Vermont maple syrup and can be enjoyed with French-pressed coffee (the menu offers the originals too). Come to the Griddle Café hungry, because the portions are enormous and will leave one easily satisfied.
Some notable pancake specialties include their Oreo cookie crunch pancakes, the Kahlua and Bailey’s infused pancakes, their butterscotch chip-streusel-caramel filled pancakes, and their expresso-chocolate chip pancakes. French toast specialties include the Nutella stuffed French Toast (my personal favorite), the chocolate-chocolate chip French Toast, and the Chips-Ahoy stuffed French Toast.
If you lack a sweet tooth, the Griddle Café offers a wide range of egg dishes and cereals for breakfast too.
And although all-day breakfast is featured, the Griddle Café also has a full lunch selection of tacos, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. True to Angelino form, burgers can be ordered with traditional ground chuck but are available as turkey burgers, chicken breasts, and veggie burgers.
For those who love American diner food, all-day breakfast, or both, the Griddle Café is a definite must-visit.
