Located in one of the most multicultural areas in Los Angeles, iam8bit works both as a store and art gallery. It sells unique merchandise for the more artful types of video games (such as The Last Guardian or Journey), plus other relevant pop culture icons. At the same time, it curates clever and creative exhibits every 4-8 weeks.
To get an idea of their work, visit their gallery archive. Artists are usually in attendance to discuss the work, which is very innovative and highly engaging. They usually host a reception with open bar in their patio area as well. If you're LA-based, I definitely recommend signing up for their mailing list, so you can find out when they're having new exhibits, which are always worth checking out. Don't worry, I've been on their mailing list for a while and can confirm they don't spam you!
As for the store part, they have lots of art pieces for fans and collectors, plus vinyl soundtracks of the most acclaimed video games, among other memorabilia. This alone is worth a pop in, even if you stop by at a time they don't hold an exhibit!
