I love the speciality coffee community in Kraków. It takes as little (or as much) as one passionate person and just a few square metres to create a place you’ll keep coming back to. First came Somnium, then came FIKA and here comes Tociekawa.
The place is tiny – just the counter and a couple of bar stools. It’s really popular for take-away, but seriously: you need to be careful. I always go there for a quick coffee and end up having a two-hour long conversation with the barista. Many of them speak English, so you’re likely to get stuck in there, too! The staff of Tociekawa is just too sweet to leave after 10 minutes. You can ask them everything about their coffees, barista secrets and the speciality coffee scene in town.
Of course, there’s a cherry on top: the sweets. Oh, the sweets! I tried one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had in Tociekawa. If they happen to have on display, don’t think twice. You’re gonna love this delicious creamy thing!
What’s more, there’s a secret garden available in the summertime. Ask the staff and they’ll lead you there. Don’t forget to check their Facebook profile, as Tociekawa is hosting coffee tastings (cuppings) very often. The entrance is usually free and you get to try amazing speciality coffee from top European roasteries.
