Sometimes your neighborhood 'Chinese' can surprise you. Mine surely did! I've passed by China Palace many times, but never thought to enter. It just didn't seem that 'hot' to me. However, after talking to some neighbors, I found out, that before the pandemic, the restaurant was famous for having many visitors from the Far East. Turns out, many Chinese traveling agencies used to bring their clients to China Palace for dinner while visiting Krakow. In that case, I thought, I'd give it ago. After all, locals know best!
One day after a long, exhausting week at the home office, I was craving some comfort food, so I decided to order Sichuan Chicken from China Palace. The food was prepared and delivered to me quickly, it was hearty and full of flavor and really hit the spot! I came back later to the restaurant with some friends, and we ordered Canton duck, Gong Bao Chicken, and Crispy Eggplant and everything was great! Now, the prices are quite high, considering the location and the atmosphere, but the food is good quality, and the portions are massive. We ordered 3 dishes for 4 people and it was more than enough.
A little tip: if you like to eat outside, there's a great park next door, so you can choose to take out and have a picnic!
