African lunch
So far, unfortunately, there aren't too many African restaurants in Helsinki, but luckily this is slowly changing. African Pots in Mäkelänkatu, Vallila, is bringing some welcomed African flavors to the restaurant scene of Helsinki.
African Pots serves buffet lunch, which combines different African cuisines. As a vegetarian I'm happy that the buffet is mostly vegetarian, usually suitable for vegans as well, so there's always several options for me to choose from. The lunch buffet consists of soup, bread, several main courses like bean and lentil stews and side dish like rice and plantain, and usually there's at least one meat dish, too. Coffee and dessert, usually small doughnuts, is also included.
The place and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed, the food has a home-cooked -vibe to it, and the service is always really friendly. The employees are happy to inform you about the different dishes.
Besides serving lunch, African Pots also organizes courses introducing African cooking, interesting!
