When I first tried Luicella's ice cream, I knew I had just found my new favorite ice cream parlor. Located in the middle of the colorful district of St. Pauli in one of the beautiful old buildings with wooden floors and immensely high ceilings, you enter into a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. You just want to sit down on one of the pretty birch stools, have a chat with your neighbors and relax. But most of all - enjoy Luicella's incredible ice cream. It's made right in front of you, only contains natural ingredients and the two owners buy their milk from regional farms.
But most of all, I admire their creativity in inventing new exciting flavors. The different types go from chocolate-peanut-salt (sooooo good!!) over coconut-chai-latte over avocado-raspberry-blueberry to milk-mint and they add new great creations all the time. You can definitely taste the owners' dedication and love for their ice cream - the hardest part of your visit will be deciding on the flavors. But they even offer a perfect solution for that – they will always add a little 'try-portion' for free! Heaven for the desperately undecided like me.
Luicella's also works perfectly for the vegans among you – they always offer several delicious vegan flavors - you have to try lemon basil! And by the way – you can even buy their ice cream kit to create your own ice cream at home.
