Located in the Southside of Glasgow, Pollok Park is one of my favourite running spots. The first time I visited it was when I first moved to Glasgow and I went on a random exploration run. Since then I've kept coming back to this beautiful spot!
I love this park as it's great for any outdoor activity such as running, walking and cycling (check Route 7 and 75 of the National Cycle Network).
My favourite thing to do is to visit on a sunny day (very rare but any dry day is a great day for Glasgow) and either go for a run or a walk while doing some Highland Cow spotting. Yes, that's right, here you can meet some of the famous Highland Cows just a few miles away from the city centre of Glasgow! If you are lucky enough, they will approach you (looking for snacks) and you can take a selfie with these beauties.
If you are up for a walk, I highly suggest walking to the park, otherwise, if you're feeling lazy, you can catch a train from Central Station to Pollokshaws West and you'll reach the park in only 9 minutes.
If you need any more reasons to visit the park, here you'll find Pollok House, a beautiful 18th-century building, and the famous Burrell Collection. The art collection is currently closed - however, you can check their page for updates.
P.S. For any Outlander fan out there, some of the scenes from season 1,2 and 4 were also filmed here!
