Dumato is one of those little magic shops everyone should know about. In the Grottes neighborhood of Geneva, it's really one of a kind: it sells fantastic products while helping the Earth.
Dumato's co-founder comes from the Amazon and decided to start making cosmetic products in Geneva using raw materials (vegan oils and butters) from the region. Some oils I knew about, others I discovered there: açai, andiroba, babassu, bacuri butter, passion fruit oil...they are all brought to Geneva straight from the Amazon to make face and body creams, body butters, massage oils and candles, balms, serums soaps and clays.
The fragrance and the consistency of all the products is just amazing. Entering Dumato is like stepping inside the Amazonian jungle, in touch with the local tribes. And from the local tribes, Dumato also sells bio hand-made jewelry, made by local women following ancestral methods and using grains picked straight from the forest.
In addition to selling the products, Dumato also offers relaxing sessions: you lie on a hammock in a room painted in green and listening to forest sounds, and you let all stress dissolve as you receive a traditional massage from the Amazons.
Sometimes I go inside just to enter this beautiful, mysterious world, smell the essential oils and plants, and try the creams to decide about my next present.
I wish there were more places like Dumato. The world needs them.
