Down a cobbled street in Edinburgh's up market West End you will find this sublime cocktail bar. It's 1920s style makes me daydream of a bygone era. I like to go there on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, sit at the exquisite marble-topped bar and be looked after by the attentive staff who are skilled in mixing an excellent range of cocktails from their ever-changing menu that they have based on the fictional "voyages of Buck"; a louche playboy whose global adventures are retold through the cocktails that they serve. From Paris to Tai Pai, patrons are encouraged to imagine themselves cast across the globe along with this upper class rogue and indulge in the pleasures of anything from a "Medjool Sidecar" in Casablanca (containing date infused cognac) to an "Imperial Cocktail" in Delhi.
There is something on the menu for everyone's taste and both the staff and the surroundings make it a magnificently indulgent way to while away an afternoon amongst cobbles of the West End.
