When I visit a new place, I always like to bring a little memento back home with me. However, it can often be a real struggle to find those high-quality, locally designed gifts and souvenirs. Unfortunately, this is also the case in Edinburgh. Walking down the Royal Mile it can be hard to escape the endless bombardment of tacky, tartan emblazoned tourist tat. But worry not, because The Red Door Gallery is here to remedy that!
The Red Door Gallery is located on Victoria Street, the famous curved, cobblestoned road full of multi-coloured shop fronts. It is a tiny gallery/shop but don’t let its size deceive you, it is stuffed full of goodies. From postcards to prints, tote bags to woolly hats, everything here is unique and most items are created by local designers and artists. Finding those high-quality gifts for friends and family is easy, you’re spoiled for choice!
