I found Smith & Gertrude purely by chance, which is often the best way to find special places. Located just off busy Stockbridge high street this cool wine bar is a perfect place to relax.
The staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about wine and really encourage you to try new things. There is a by the glass menu which changes daily as well as a wine flight menu where you get to try out three different recommended wines.
Not only do they offer a wide range of wines and drinks they also have cheese boards, olives and meats to accompany your drinks. You can even just pop in for a bite to eat if you’re looking for a light and delicious lunch, the bread are some of the best I’ve tried with olive oil and balsamic it can’t get any better.
This is a great place to come in all weathers, grab a seat outside when the weather is warmer or get cosy inside when the weather is being a little more Scottish.
