Cowan and Sons is one of the best brunch spots in the city. It is located on Stockbridge high street, a real hub for trendy eateries and shops. Visually, it definitely fits in with the hipster aesthetic. The interior is very eclectic with a mix of repurposed and salvaged materials (one of the doors and floorboards are actually from my Mum’s old high school!).
But it’s not just a pretty face, the food here is just as aesthetically pleasing and most importantly completely delicious. Choose from traditional cooked breakfasts, porridge, soups and filled ciabatta rolls. And just like any self-respecting brunch spot, they offer a variety of avocado on toast options too. Everything is freshly prepared and they offer lots of veggie and vegan dishes.
The only downside is that because this place is so popular it can be hard to get a table, so bear in mind it is often busy, especially at lunchtime and weekends.
