Is it art? Or vandalism to the government's property?
What the anarchist Spyo is doing around Copenhagen is for sure powerful statements towards the system and our way of living within the system and the rules of society.
Something I think, we should all learn from and think about.
His choice of weapon is words painted in capital letters -- short sentences with strong and provocative messages to the readers. Illegal paintings on the very top of house walls, on buildings and other fronts in the city.
He is shouting out statements like "you are only free within the system", "one man's trash, another man's treasure" and "fuck the norm".
Many of the pieces are in Danish, but just as many are in English (maybe!?) so if you see one on your way around town, think it over. It might resonate with you?
Spyo's art is all over the city, so look up from your phone and your Spotted by Locals app once in a while.
