Purcari winery is no doubt emblematic for Moldova’s wine industry. First of all, this company produces the most famous wine brand of Moldova: “Negru de Purcari”, which can be translated as “Black of Purcari”. This wine is a blend of French Cabernet, Georgian Saperavi, and local Rara Neagra. This blend was invented in the 19th century and since then has become a top choice between all Moldavian wines.
And there is no better place to try it than Purcari’s own Purcari Wine Bar. Here you can try all of its wide wine range, starting with sparkling wine and ending with a dessert late-harvest wines. Of course, the personnel is well trained and can not only offer the right wine in suitable glasses and proper temperature but can also tell you “the story” of the wine.
The not-so-central location is easily compensated for by the tranquil atmosphere and prices because here you can have a glass of “Negru de Purcari ” for the best possible value. In addition to wine, you can have cheese and salami cuts and find your own perfect pairing. I also choose this spot for business meetings with my partners from abroad, as the atmosphere is always quiet here, and a glass of Negru de Purcari makes it even better and guarantees positive results.
