On a hot summer day, there is no better way to cool yourself than savoring an ice cream. For me, a top destination for it is a café in the city center – La Dolce Italia. Italy does not just feature prominently in its name just by coincidence -- first of all, the ice cream here is made according to Italian recipes and technology, and a lot of ingredients used are also of Italian origin.
Second, the owners of the café got the idea and were inspired by such cafes in Italy, called “Gelateria”, during their work in Italy. And it is important to say that it is a widely met phenomenon in Moldova, because a lot of my compatriots live and work in Italy, but keep their roots in Moldova and try to implement their experience from abroad in their hometowns and villages, which I consider a great trend.
The flavors you can have at “La dolce Italia” vary from classic Nutella and vanilla to sophisticated nocciola and stracciatella, but my personal best is the pistachio: when you taste one, you can really feel a taste of Italy in Chisinau.
