For me, there is no better way to start my Sunday than having a really nice breakfast with freshly baked bread. The craft bakery trend has just arrived to Chisinau, and Crosta is one of its most remarkable manifestations.
It was recently opened in Riscani district, and it immediately became its center of gravity, offering excellent as well as reasonably priced food, all made with a hint of the cook’s imagination. A good sign is also the fact that the menu changes each season, offering some fresh hits and interesting combinations.
And, of course, the main feature of Crosta is the house that was turned into a bakery, which includes classic cakes like eclairs, fruit tarts, millefeuilles and original bread recipes like onion baguette or rye “Borodino” bread (my favourite) and an integral part of a perfect smorrebrod, also served here.
My best time to visit Crosta no doubt is for breakfast, which includes a large variety of dishes and must be accompanied with a cup of coffee, which is also good.
