Cărturești is a Romanian book store chain that opened its first venue in Chișinău in 2019. One can browse through lots of books in Romanian, English, French and Russian. The bookstore has a reading area where you can sit together with a book. Other than books, Cărturești has loads of other interesting things such as posters, board games, cards, magnets, toys, gifts, wine and other such interesting small things.
Cărturești is kid-friendly and they have a small play area for kids that is free to use. There are usually some people in the bookstore but during work hours it is mostly empty and this means that it is perfect for spending a good half hour there browsing or reading. The staff is very friendly and polite.
Cărturești is located in MallDova - the biggest mall in Chișinău. The mall has lots of other things to do such as cinema, a food court, restaurants and a big kids' play area on the top floor.
Cărturești has something for everyone and it is one of my favourite spots in the city. It is the best place to get gifts when you don't know what to get... For book lovers and not only - please try it.
