Every night from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m., you’ll find this spot hustling. At first, it looks like a big battle, but it’s actually the spot for the most famous falafel cart in Ramses and downtown Cairo. It’s run by a guy they call "Wahid the Great," a nickname given by customers who’ve tasted his delicious falafel served with homemade butter.
Begin with the delicious ful platters, the spot offers a great variety. From plain to Alexandria style to butter or lemon ful, you'll find a platter to suit your taste, or you can customize it how you like. It's a must-try!
Then, moving on to their specialty, "batates gambry" which literally means shrimp fries. Although it doesn't contain any shrimp, the name comes from their secret recipe for the butter in which the fries are dipped before being deep fried for a crunchy flavorful experience.
Early birds gather there from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day for this breakfast. Be ready to wait a little, as the seats are limited.
