The Wadi Degla Protectorate is an 8km of open space, hills, hikes and some echo. This protectorate is open for anyone, from sunrise till sunset.
I got introduced to Wadi Degla back in 2009, when my friend's older brother had to take us on a barbecue car tour and we needed a car that was qualified to fearlessly off-road. A few years later, it came to my realization that this quiet peaceful zone is capable of accommodating its aura upon exactly what your soul might be seeking.
Now, it's been a couple of years since I have been approaching this spot like a natural healer. You walk in feeling heavy and walk out shining with light. Some people walk in aiming to have some sun love and tan with nothing interfering, others might go for a run with their fellow dogs, a few might pick up this destination to shoot their individualistic stories, but many, many people will go there just to meditate.
The openness and exclusivity of the place will let you think twice about going home, unless you're forced to head out before it's dark, since the place closes its doors by sunset.
I cannot skip mentioning several points: first off, there is no cell phone reception. Also, you will be asked to leave any form of identification at the door before passing the main gate as precaution against any case of disturbance and you losing track of the way out.
