De Ultieme Hallucinatie is a sumptuous, one-of-a-kind restaurant and bar. The art deco woodwork, the old-fashioned floor, the spectacular bar, and the vintage wooden benches instantly transport you to the early 20th century. You could imagine yourself in a carriage on the Orient Express, or waiting to go to a 1920s party. Prices are a little steep compared to other establishments, but the food is lovely and the service is without faux pas.
You can come here for a drink, or to eat, but you do need to reserve a table either way. The food menu is typically Belgian: meatballs, waterzooi, etc. but this is no ordinary brasserie. The chef brings his own refined touch to every dish, using fresh ingredients of the highest quality. De Ultieme Hallucinatie is very spacious, with many separate rooms, a cellar dedicated to corporate events, a terrace, and even a discotheque! Whether you're planning a business lunch, a romantic dinner, or a chic apéro, there is always a good reason to visit the place. You can even book a mystery tour in which a guide prompts you to solve a puzzle linked to the history of the building. A great idea for a special occasion, with or without a gourmet meal.
In addition, they organize concerts (classical, jazz...) and story-telling nights. I recommend this place for a refined experience infused with Belgian history. My picture does not do it justice, check their website!
